TOKYO WEB3 INFINITY NIGHT Successfully Concluded with CoinW Labs Rallying Web3 Projects with Industry Stakeholders and Go-to Exchanges for IEO
On the evening of July 25, 2023, the second TOKYO WEB3 INFINITY NIGHT came to a successful conclusion. CoinW Labs, as a co-host, aims to support Web3 projects through investment, incubation, and industry research, promoting the profound development of Web3 in Japan and the global Web3 industry.
WebX, Asia’s leading Web3 conference, took place in Tokyo, Japan from July 25th to 26th. The current Japanese Prime Minister attended the event and expressed dedication and commitment to Web3 from a governmental level. In his keynote speech, he believes that Web3 is the “new form of capital,” stating that its innovations and applications have the potential to instigate transformations in various industries and even the entire socio-economic landscape.
The Japanese government has indeed been actively promoting this commitment by introducing a series of policies. As one of the earliest countries to recognize Bitcoin as legal, Japan established the “Web3.0 Policy Office” in 2022, followed by the release of the “NFT White Paper” and the “Stablecoin Proposal for Opening Web3 in Japanese Society.” On June 1st of this year, Japan implemented the revised “Fund Settlement Act,” officially defining stablecoins as a new form of “electronic payment,” further solidifying their position within Japan’s legal framework. Additionally, the National Tax Agency updated its policies, granting tax exemption for unrealized cryptocurrency gains by token issuers.
Against this backdrop, CoinW Labs co-organized a large-scale side event during the WebX conference. The event, named TOKYO WEB3 INFINITY NIGHT, was jointly hosted by the Tokyo Web3 Infinity Club (TWIC) and UneMeta, and it brought together nearly 400 industry leaders, projects, top VC institutions from Japan and Asia, and developers who are part of the Web3 builder community.
