1、Institute Short Review

Forta is a real-time detection network that provides security services for smart contracts for security and operational monitoring of blockchain activity. In October ’21, the project closed a $23M funding round, led by A16z and followed by coinbase and true ventures. And more recently, the project has made a large airdrop to reward early participants. Considering that the project has real value and the subject type has some scarcity, it is worth paying attention in the long term.

3、Project introduction

Forta is the first smart contract decentralized runtime security protocol incubated by OpenZeppelin. Protocols, DAOs, investors and individuals can use Forta to monitor trading activity and receive alerts about security, financial, operational and governance-related events on Layer 1, Layer 2 and sidechains.

4、Token role

Has certain governance rights; network node operators must deposit FORT to operate; developers can pledge tokens to monitoring bots.

5、Token allocation

Total amount: 1 billion

In addition to the 4% total amount of airdrop, the project has not publicly disclosed its token supply specific allocation strategy.

7、Project outlook

In recent years, the endless hacking attacks have undermined many potential users’ confidence in crypto and DeFi, and the ability to discover vulnerabilities in the smart contract ecosystem has become an immediate need for many users. The forta project addresses this need by providing some scripting support and subscription services. If Forta can further enhance smart contract security and help smart contracts become the infrastructure of the Internet, it will become a leader in security itself.
