1. Research Comment

Tornado Cash is a privacy transaction middleware implemented on Ethereum based on zero-knowledge proofs. It is able to send ETH as well as ERC20 tokens (currently supports DAI, cDAI, USDC, USDT, WBTC) to any address in an untraceable manner. As we all know, privacy transactions are an indispensable piece of the cryptocurrency world. In the actual transfer process, not all users are willing to reveal the source and whereabouts of their funds, and Tornad, as the leader of the privacy sector on Ethereum, has a wider recognition and consensus. Coupled with the recent geopolitical tensions and the frequent occurrence of various sanctions, similar privacy projects may gain the attention and favor of big money.

3. Project Introduction

Tornado.Cash is a fully decentralized, non-custodial protocol that improves transaction privacy by breaking the on-chain link between source and target addresses. To protect privacy, Tornado.Cash uses a smart contract that accepts deposits of ETH and other tokens from one address and allows them to withdraw to a different address, i.e. send ETH and other tokens to any address.

6. Project Vision
